Mining Governance and Investment Assessment

Ron Smit Consulting was contracted by Adam Smith International (ASI) to participate in the Mining Governance and Investment Assessment project.  The project is implemented by ASI in cooperation with the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) and the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET).

The MGIA project, currently in the Inception Phase, will aim to provide an analytical tool for a wide range of mining industry stakeholders in developing countries.

Led by the World Bank Group, the project is funded by the Global Extractives Resources Initiative (GERI),  the Extractive Industries Technical Advisory Facility (EITAF), the Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale  Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
